How to Close a Batch
Use either of the Close Batch procedures only after you reconcile an errored batch or review a balanced batch. After you close a batch, you can no longer make changes to the batch details or to the transactions within the batch. Any corrections to transactions must be posted in a new batch as an adjustment.
To close a batch:
- You must have permission to access the fund the batch is associated with.
AND
- You must have Offering > Close Batch permissions tied to your login credentials. This permissions is set in the Administration module on the ParishSOFT Modules tab in the staff user's record. Access to the Administration module is restricted to organization administrators only.
Closing a Batch
You can close a batch on the Postings page or on the Batches page. Use either of the following procedures to close a batch:
On the Postings page for the batchOn the Postings page for the batch
- In the upper-right corner, click this button:
(Close Batch).
A message is displayed, prompting you to confirm the change.

The system closes the batch. To reflect the change, the Status field on the batch card is updated to show Closed.
On the Batches pageOn the Batches page
- Open the Batches page.
- In the batch list, locate the batch you want to close. To quickly find the desired batch, use the Search or Filter function.
Position your mouse over the Info icon 
to find out what type of data the Search bar accepts.
- Click (Close Batch).
A message is displayed, prompting you to confirm the change.

The system closes the batch. To reflect the change, the Status field on the batch card is updated to show Closed.
