How to Post Pledges to a Batch

  Keyboard shortcuts are available to save you time when posting pledges. For details, go to Data Entry Tips to Speed Your Workflow.

For each pledge that you want to post to a batch, complete the following:

  1. Open the Batches page.
  2. In the batch list, locate the batch you want to post the pledge to. To quickly find the desired batch, use the Search or Filter function.

 Position your mouse over the Info icon  to find out what type of data the Search bar accepts.

  1. Click   to open the Postings page.
  2. The page opens to the Contributions tab. Select the Pledges tab.

The right panel lists default settings you can apply to the posting form to save time and make the posting process more efficient. That is, instead of changing the selection settings every time you post a new pledge, you can set default values in the panel initially so that from then on, you always have the desired settings in the form. If you want to change a specific default setting on the fly, simply change it in the form where necessary.

  1. If desired, set defaults for posting pledges.
  2. Click .
  3. Find the donor whose pledge you want to post. To do this, complete the following:
    1. In the posting form, click  .
    2. Enter your search criteria into the Directory Search fields. Then, click  to find the donor in your database.
    3. Select the donor's last name link.

      You return to the Postings page where the selected donor's information is displayed.
  4. In the posting form, do the following:
    1. In the Amount field, type the amount of the pledge.
    2. As desired, complete the remaining fields in the pledge record.

  If you need to change details for the pledge, click this button to make changes: .

  1. Click  to post the pledge to the batch.
