How to Edit a Contribution Record

To edit a contribution record, you must have Offering > Add/Edit permissions tied to your login credentials. This permission is set in the Administration module on the ParishSOFT Modules tab in the staff user's record. Access to the Administration module is restricted to organization administrators only.

  1. Open the Contributions page.
  2. Find the contribution record you want to edit. Do one of the following:
    • In the Search box in the toolbar, enter the Search By value in the toolbar to find the contribution. (Position your mouse over the Info icon  to find out what values the Search bar accepts.). Then, click .
    • Click  to open the Filter panel on the right. Enter one or more filter criteria. If desired, set filters to specify the order in which you want the filter results displayed. Then, click this button at the top of the filter panel: .

A list of contributions matching your search criteria is displayed.

  1. Select the checkbox next to the record you want to edit. Then, click .
  2. In the Edit Values panel on the far right, do the following for each field in the record that you want to edit:
    1. Select the field's checkbox to put it in edit mode. Then, type your change into the field. For descriptions of the fields, go to Contribution Record Details.
    2. Click  to save your changes.

The system updates the contribution record with your changes.
